The Okie Mod Squad formed in 2009 when a small group of mod-minded friends began gathering in each other’s homes to discuss mid-century design and architecture.  Within a few short years, the group grew so much that we created a Facebook page, started an Instagram account as okiemodsquad, and developed this website to:

• Showcase Oklahoma’s abundance of mid-century modern architecture
• Educate people about our architectural heritage and the firms in the state that designed our modern masterpieces
• Work to preserve Oklahoma’s modern architecture

The Okie Mod Squad has organized open houses and architectural tours, parties, our bi-annual Mod Swap, architectural presentations, and the always fun Oklahoma Modernism Weekend.  In addition, we have worked with Preservation Oklahoma, the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the AIA, and the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture to save some of our best architectural icons.
