Several years ago, Garrett Colton was rummaging through his grandfather’s attic and stumbled upon a true treasure: vintage photos of a visit daredevil Evel Knievel made to Oklahoma City in 1972.  Colton’s grandfather was car dealer Joe Cooper, and the story of the two men and Knievel’s eventful trip to the Metro area is fascinating and oftentimes hilarious, and it’s all documented in an intriguing book Colton put together called Evel Comes to Cooperville.

Garrett Colton will be discussing Knievel’s exciting trip and the story behind it at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10th, in the First Christian Church sanctuary.  He will also bring along copies of his book and will be signing them afterward.
